cp #1

tried 2 products wif no calcium added

n is only composed of water, rice, sunflower oil n salt

...

results...

joya

- latter best before (06 06 22)

- rice content 13.5%, lower concentration

- ingredients same

- one twist open, easy n convenient

- liquid looks not so opaque, less solid white.. got some white chunks floating

- texture quite dilute.. watery but juz not so rich creamy

- taste no so sweet.. juz very mild sweet

-less chalky.. only after half a carton.. n then starts feeling a bit chalky

casino

- earlier best before (21 04 22)

- rice content 14%, slightly higher concentration

- ingredients same

- one twist open, same convenient

- liquid solid white, wif a bit beige hint.. feels like less watery.. also no visible white chunks floating

- texture similar quite dilute.. not very rich n juz smooth mouthfeel... yet feels a bit more dense than joya

- taste similar mild sweet only.. no strong rice flavour... yet this slightly denser milk gives a bit malty hint at the end

- more chalky.. chalky at throat after some mouthfuls..

cp #2

to compare plain version n wif calcium added

2 products to be tried

n they're joya n macro

...

results...

joya

- ingredients w/o calcium.. only contain water, rice, sunflower oil, salt

- rice content 13.5%.. slightly lower

- organic EU certified.. produced in Austria

-same SIG packaging.. one twist open

- liquid looks watery cloudy white.. yet feels like more solid white than last carton of joya.. no visible white chunks

- taste mildly subtly sweet.. but way more sweet than macro

- texture smooth dilute.. no so creamy rich.. btw more watery smooth than macro coz w/o any clogged sediment 渣

macro

- ingredients wif added calcium.. other ingredients same

- rice content 14%.. a bit higher.. also indicate it's of brown rice

- organic ACO certified.. made in Australia

- same SIG packaging.. one twist open

- liquid looks similar level of solid white.. juz clear watery white.. no visible white chunks

- taste less sweet.. more nutty like whole grain feel.. felt some sediment 渣 at tongue end

-texture a bit thicker coz the sediment felt.. yet not so dense rich.. no creamy smooth but more like watery wif sediment 渣

overall... rice milk wif calcium likely will hv clogged sediment

n might be less sweet wif calcium as mineral salt

however.. unknown if the brown rice base is also affecting the consistency.. or maybe giving a nutty flavour

cp #3

prep 4 products to compare

gotta compare difference between wif calcium n w/o calcium

also to compare difference of using different calcium sources

...

comparison... of labeling n packaging

#1 joya

- SIG packaging

- best before (06 06 22)

- no calcium added.. ingredients only contain water, rice, sunflower oil, salt..

- rice content 13.5%

#2 macro

- SIG packaging.. the only one in different carton shape (a rectangular block).. btw the only one got much air inside when shake.. would be easier to shake well b4 open

- best before (29 07 22)

- wif calcium added.. n the source is calcium carbonate

- rice content 14%.. also indicates its of brown rice

#3 bridge

- tetra pak packaging

- best before (26 02 22).. it's the earliest of all

- wif calcium added.. n the source is seaweed (lithothamnium calcareum 0.4%)

- rice content 17%.. also indicates it's of Italian rice

#4 casino

- tetra pak packaging

- best before (09 07 22)

- wif calcium added.. n the source is marine algae (lithothamnium calcareum 0.4%)

- rice content 14%

...

cp results.. of taste n texture

#1 joya

- easy one twist open

- liquid looks dilute watery.. snow white in colour.. got some white chunks visible

- taste sweet mild at first sip.. as drink this one first.. but after having others, this is the sweetest all

- texture dilute n smooth.. no so creamy rich

#2 macro

- easy one twist open

- liquid looks quite dilute.. a bit more solid white than joya.. a bit beige hint

- taste less sweet than others.. feels quite nutty whole grain like

- texture less smooth coz wif sediment 渣.. more thick consistency than joya coz the sediment.. however not a creamy mouthfeel

#3 bridge

- only one got a pull ring opening.. less convenient

- liquid looks a bit dilute.. beige in colour.. much white chunks floating.. maybe not shaken well?

- taste less sweet than joya.. more sweet than macro

- texture ok smooth dilute like joya.. n yet a bit richer than joya.. moreover more smooth more thin than macro coz no sediment 渣 felt..

#4 casino

- easy one twist open

- liquid looks beige, or light brown.. most solid look of all.. no white chunks visible

- taste less sweet than joya.. more sweet than macro.. similar sweet as bridge n yet wif a malty aftertaste.. the malty sweetness is more flavourful than bridge

- texture similar smooth consistency like joya n bridge.. juz w/o sediment felt.. plus feel a bit richer creamy than bridge n richer than joya

...

overall..

turns out wif calcium can be same smooth.. n thus the sediment 渣 texture of macro likely caused by the brown rice base

moreover.. calcium dun seem to add much chemical taste on rice milk.. maybe coz that's a small controllable amount?

added calcium can be still quite sweet (eg. the bridge)

different calcium sources give no big difference in taste.. juz no detect any odd flavour for both types of calcium

the bridge got highest percentage of rice content.. n yet still not feel like it's the most rich dense.. maybe coz it's not of brown rice ? maybe not shaken well enough?

the bridge got an earliest best before.. maybe easier to cause ingredients separation? and thus got much white chunks floating?

casino malty flavour reminds me of malted vitasoy 麥精維他奶
